Intense communication between a mother and her baby is constant. For another person to try joining the party you feel can welcomed with a smile. Other times you learn from the baby’s expression that three is a crowd.
As life drawing models, my daughter and her baby son are hard to beat. The happy and healthy survival of a brand new human requires plenty of time sitting around. Hours are spent deciphering scowls, grunts, whimpers and gurgles. Daily walks are punctuated by feeding stops on Park benches. And these picnics have included backdrops of falling leaves, a film crew and snow. Postponing is not an option. I love drawing people. Usually I do this in cafes or on public transport but right now life has handed me a wonderful opportunity.
